Mar 27, 2026 at 9:24 AMAron Backström will assume the position of Chief Commercial Officer at Swedavia on August 10, 2026. He currently holds the role of VP Product & Loyalty at the airline SAS, where he has served in various strategic and commercial leadership positions.
Backström holds a Master of Science in Business Administration and Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics and has over a decade of experience in the commercial sector of the aviation industry. In his current role, he is responsible for the customer experience both on board and on the ground, as well as for the EuroBonus frequent flyer program.
Expectations for the New Role
Mats Johannesson, President and CEO of Swedavia, spoke positively about the upcoming appointment: “I am very pleased to welcome Aron Backström to Swedavia. Backström himself emphasizes the dynamic development of the Swedish aviation market and Swedavia’s central role in this process. “I am passionate about building business with the customer at the center, and I look forward to getting to work with the team,” stated the future Chief Commercial Officer.
