Mar 26, 2026 at 11:22 AMSwisslog has expanded its portfolio of automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) with the AgileStore 4-Way-Pallet-Shuttle. This new system aims to maximize storage density and optimize space utilization while enabling flexible and automated material flows.
With AgileStore, Swisslog complements its existing offerings, which already include the bidirectional pallet shuttle PowerStore and the pallet crane Vectura. The 4-Way-Pallet-Shuttle allows multidirectional movements, enabling each shuttle to move independently within the system. This flexibility is particularly advantageous in warehouse environments with irregular building geometries, where traditional aisle-based systems often reach their limits.
Efficient Warehouse Automation
The AgileStore system supports high-density storage and enables dynamic access in deep channels as well as in mixed-SKU environments without requiring structural modifications. The integrated lifts move both shuttles and pallets between the rack levels, ensuring efficient load transfer and seamless inbound and outbound processing. Each shuttle can reach any point in the system, reducing manual interventions and allowing for dynamic routing and effective load distribution.
The automation and control software of AgileStore manages the inbound and outbound processes and helps minimize the use of forklifts. Alexander Leitner, EVP Strategy & Markets at Swisslog, emphasizes: “Warehouses today need automation systems that go beyond the limits of traditional shuttle systems.”
Diverse Application Areas
Swisslog is collaborating with Eurofork, a technology and automation supplier, to develop the Roaming-Pallet-Shuttle system. Eurofork has already implemented numerous installations worldwide, indicating high market acceptance and proven automation performance. AgileStore supports a variety of pallet types and can handle loads of up to 1,500 kg. The system is suitable for both ambient and deep-freeze areas down to -30 °C, making it ideal for the food and beverage industry as well as for food retailers and 3PL providers.
Maurizio Traversa, CEO of Eurofork, highlights: “With its reliable performance in ambient and deep-freeze areas, AgileStore offers exactly the versatility that modern warehouse operations need.”
AgileStore can be integrated into Swisslog’s software ecosystem and supports warehouse automation as well as real-time control for pallet storage. The control software optimizes performance across shuttles and lifts, enabling precise inventory control. The modular design of the system, which includes specially designed racks, high-speed lifts, and roaming shuttles, allows for easy expansion as storage needs increase.
