Mar 26, 2026 at 8:30 AMThe Hamburg MACS Maritime Carrier Shipping GmbH & Co has announced the expansion of its multipurpose liner service, which now also calls at the port of Luanda. This new connection allows for regular and direct sailings to the Angolan port every two weeks. The ships will arrive directly in Luanda after loading in Europe, offering one of the fastest transit times on the market. The travel time from Hamburg is 23 to 24 days, from Antwerp 18 to 19 days, and from Leixões 13 to 14 days.
Efficient Connections for Exports
Export goods from Luanda to Europe will be transshipped via the port of Walvis Bay to reach MACS services heading north. Additionally, coastal goods can be transported with short and reliable transit times from Luanda to ports in Namibia, South Africa, and Mozambique. The MACS ships dock at the Sogester Terminal in Luanda. In addition to the company’s own containers, which are available in various types such as dry containers, open containers, flatbeds, and refrigerated containers, breakbulk cargoes such as vehicles, project cargo, and steel products can also be transported.
The ships used for this service have a maximum carrying capacity of 240 tons and a hatch opening of 36 meters. In Luanda, MACS is represented by Supermaritime. The first voyage from Europe will be carried out by the „MV Blue Master II“ (voyage no. 261208), which will load in Hamburg on March 26, in Antwerp on April 2, and in Leixões on April 7, arriving in Luanda on April 20.
