Mar 25, 2026 at 10:04 AMWes Yardley has been appointed as the Operations Director for the United Kingdom and Ireland by the Customs Support Group (CSG). Yardley brings over 25 years of experience in the logistics industry, most recently serving as the head of the customs department for CEVA Logistics in Europe. In his new role, he will lead the implementation of customs-compliant and efficient operational processes in the region.
Yardley emphasizes that he values the opportunity to work for a company that considers customs a core competency. „Customs is no longer an additional service but a crucial part of all supply chains,“ he explains. He plans to place a strong focus on operational performance and aims to design processes that appear to customers as an extension of their own teams.
Throughout his career, Yardley has led teams through regulatory changes and market disruptions. He views his experience as valuable in providing customers with trust and clear guidance during uncertain times. „Customers need reliability and consistency from their customs agents in uncertain times,“ Yardley adds.
Keiron Myall, Managing Director of CSG UK&IE, highlights Yardley’s extensive experience in customs processing and complex logistics environments. „He has led large, cross-site teams through significant changes, including the transformation post-Brexit,“ says Myall. Yardley’s pragmatic leadership style and focus on efficient operations are expected to help strengthen customer trust in supply chains.
Yardley’s appointment comes as part of CSG’s ambitious expansion plans in the United Kingdom. Gary Harrold, who previously held a different role, will transition to a newly created strategic position as Trade Operations Director. Harrold will focus on key developments and projects that are critical to CSG’s future strategy.
CSG is recognized as a leading provider of customs and trade solutions in Europe, offering comprehensive services to facilitate cross-border goods movement. The company employs over 1,700 customs professionals and is committed to ensuring a smooth and efficient process for its customers.
