ManoMano and ID Logistics celebrate partnership
Mar 17, 2026 at 9:17 AMExotec, a company specializing in warehouse robotics, has opened a new automated fulfillment center in Savannah, Georgia, in collaboration with Komar Distribution Services (KDS). Covering an area of 70,000 square meters, the center aims to meet the increasing demands in direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales. The implementation of the Skypod robot system and a fully integrated automation solution is designed to enhance efficiency and increase warehouse density.
Expected Efficiency Gains
The new fulfillment center is expected to increase throughput by up to 50% and improve warehouse density by 30%. These measures are necessary as KDS anticipates a significant rise in package volume. Some of the company’s clients are already managing over 100,000 packages per month. To meet customer demands, KDS is seeking flexible automation solutions that can be quickly scaled, especially during times of labor shortages and rising consumer expectations.
Tyler Harris, President of KDS, commented on the challenges: “Our customers are growing rapidly and expect us to grow with them. We needed a scalable solution designed for speed, density, and adaptability.” The new automation solution enables KDS to process orders in minutes and efficiently manage operations even in unpredictable environments.
Modular Approach for Flexibility
Exotec’s modular Skypod system allows KDS to gradually increase capacity without extensive construction work. The integrated solution includes not only Skypod robots but also conveyor belts, carton sealing, and inbound and outbound scanning. Exotec’s Deepsky® software coordinates the entire operation in real-time.
Arthur Bellamy, Chief Revenue Officer of Exotec, emphasizes the relevance of the new solution: “KDS’s customers face challenges that many growing companies encounter: they must meet speed expectations while keeping costs under control.” The modular solution enables customers to prepare orders in less than two minutes, providing maximum flexibility in a highly unpredictable environment.
The fulfillment center in Savannah is expected to be fully automated by early 2027 and is currently onboarding new customer programs.
