This initiative is part of a multi-year partnership aimed at reducing emissions in line with Danfoss’s sustainability goals and increasing capacity for low-emission transport in daily cross-border operations.
Grace You, Regional Category Manager at Danfoss Global Freight Procurement, emphasized: “This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to act sustainably today while contributing to a cleaner and more resilient future.” The new truck complements the first electric solution for cross-border transport between Malaysia and Singapore, introduced in July 2024, and expands the existing collaboration with Danfoss.
Expansion of Low-Emission Transport Solutions
The new 17-foot transporter is part of the Con-X solution, which targets low-emission transport in Asia and offers a payload capacity of up to 5.5 tons. With the two trucks designated for this solution, an annual reduction of CO₂ emissions by 93.6 tons is expected. In addition to the zero-emission exhaust, operations are supported by a specialized operations center that provides customers with enhanced visibility and control over the transport flow.
Rickard Ingvarsson, CEO Asia Pacific at SGL, stated: “Sustainability is not just a statement. It is a shared commitment.” He added that collaboration with customers helps turn ideas into concrete solutions to develop cost-effective and CO₂-neutral transport and logistics solutions.
At the inauguration, the logistics provider was awarded a recognition prize by Danfoss Climate Solutions for its contribution to their sustainability efforts. Martin Andersen, Global Head of Sustainability & ESG at SGL, highlighted the importance of proactive collaboration with customers to drive significant change. “The implementation of electric trucks on one of Asia’s busiest freight routes demonstrates that the impact is real, and we are determined to work together on the decarbonization of high-frequency routes.”
With a total of four electric trucks currently in operation in China and Malaysia, Scan Global Logistics continues its efforts to scale practical solutions for low-emission transport and help customers reduce emissions in real supply chains.
