Mar 16, 2026 at 10:34 AMThe HOYER Group is expanding its training offerings and introducing a specially developed training concept in the USA. The new training container, which is currently on its way to the United States, is based on the experiences and successes of an already established program in Europe.
Successful European Training Program as a Basis
The European training program of the HOYER Group, which includes a modified tank container and a corresponding chassis, has established itself as an effective tool for knowledge transfer since its introduction. The development of this concept began in 2013 when HOYER aimed to make technical training in handling tank containers more practical. Consequently, the concept became an integral part of training for various target groups, including public institutions such as fire departments and police, as well as customer events and trade fairs.
Since the introduction of the first training container, the concept has set standards in Europe. Originally intended as a practical solution for simulating application errors, it has evolved into a mobile training approach that was awarded the Dangerous Goods Prize in 2017. The training container allows for the realistic conveyance of technical relationships and the illustrative demonstration of complex processes. Numerous organizations, from industrial companies to emergency services and authorities to military facilities, utilize the HOYER training modules, which have now become a fixed component of safety and quality training.
New Development for the US Market
With the new training units for the USA, the HOYER Group aims to expand its international training activities. “We want to make our technical expertise available worldwide where our customers and employees need it,” explains Björn Schniederkötter, Chief Executive Officer of the HOYER Group. The new concept aims to make handling tank containers safer and more efficient.
For the US market, a simple replica of the European equipment was deliberately not pursued. Due to the different legal and technical requirements, HOYER opted for a complete new development. Experiences from European operations, particularly the knowledge of long-standing employees, significantly influenced the design. Niels Merettig, Senior Manager Engineering Equipment of the HOYER Group, emphasizes: “Simply transferring the European equipment to the US market would not have been technically or regulatory effective.”
The result of this new development is a training setup tailored to the needs of the US market, consisting of a specially developed tank container and an additionally designed box container. The tank container primarily serves as a demonstration object, while the box container is exclusively designed for training purposes. Together, both components form a unique training module.
Positive Feedback and Outlook
The initial feedback from customers and partners in the USA confirms that HOYER is on the right track with the new training approach. Christian Berlin, Group Executive Director Operations of the HOYER Group, highlights: “The show container and the training box are important building blocks for further expanding our service and training offerings in North America and for eventually providing a complete training concept with standardized training modules.”
The HOYER Group has been active in the North American market for many years and is further expanding its locally oriented training and service offerings with the new training container. The training container complements the existing operational network and lays the foundation for the development of a training program specifically tailored to the US market, which will also include additional modules. This strengthens HOYER’s support for its US customers and service partners.
