Mar 13, 2026 at 11:16 AMLogistec has announced the acquisition of the Logistics Park Dubuque (LPD) from Travero to expand its inland waterways network in the United States and create new market connections. The site is located in East Dubuque, Illinois, on the Upper Mississippi and offers a variety of services.
The acquisition of LPD allows Logistec to extend its reach into the industrial and agricultural heartland of the United States. The company, headquartered in Montréal, provides specialized services for handling bulk, breakbulk, and containerized cargo, as well as logistics solutions, including transportation and storage, within its North American network of 63 ports and 86 terminals. CEO Sean Pierce emphasizes that connecting the terminal with the existing network enhances efficiency and access to emerging markets for customers in the Midwest region.
LPD is a 100-hectare multimodal terminal specializing in the handling, storage, and loading of bulk and breakbulk cargo. The site offers direct access to rail transport via CN Rail as well as inland shipping on the Upper Mississippi. LPD’s customers include leading U.S. manufacturers in agriculture, steel, manufacturing, and energy.
Lisha Coffey, President of Travero, highlights the importance of the terminal for regional supply chains and the community. „LPD has a strong track record and a dedicated team. We are proud of the role the facility has played in supporting our customers,“ Coffey explains. She emphasizes that the transfer to Logistec is a strategic decision, as the company has the necessary expertise to operate and expand logistics terminals.
This acquisition follows a recent agreement by Logistec to acquire the IPA Terminal in Altamira, Mexico.
