Mar 9, 2026 at 9:16 PMUnilode has announced the launch of Super Sentinel, a digital solution for tracking Unit Load Devices (ULDs) aimed at eliminating lost and unreported ULDs. This new technology will be activated on Unilode’s Bluetooth and LoRa tags, enabling the tracking of ULDs outside the existing reader network. This allows Unilode to locate lost or unreported ULDs worldwide.
The development of Super Sentinel was carried out in collaboration with OnAsset Intelligence, a company specializing in tracking and visibility of shipments. The solution offers enhanced tracking of ULDs and individual shipments, responding to the evolving needs of airlines and freight operators.
The technology is set to be introduced in 2026 and will encompass the entire global fleet of over 220,000 ULDs. The goal is to reduce the loss and unreporting of ULDs through intelligent digital recovery. Currently, Unilode’s digital solutions already show significant results: digital ULDs report 75% fewer unreported ULDs, and the loss rate stands at 0.01%. With Super Sentinel, a further reduction of unreported ULDs by over 95% is targeted.
Expansion of Digital Capabilities
Super Sentinel complements Unilode’s existing digital capabilities, which include real-time tracking of ULDs, digital supply chain management (SCM), service reporting, and an internal customer portal. Unilode is pursuing comprehensive digitization with its global ULD management model, supported by approximately 900 employees in aviation and ULD management worldwide.
Together with OnAsset Intelligence, Unilode is committed to providing connected and forward-looking digital solutions that help customers avoid losses, increase efficiency, and strengthen operational resilience in the global air freight supply chain.
