Bifa appoints regional representative for the Midlands
Mar 9, 2026 at 12:56 PMCargoLand by LGG and Cathay Cargo has once again demonstrated its role in the specialized logistics for live animals: In a recent operation, LGG acted as the European gateway for the transport of competition horses to Hong Kong, where a significant international show jumping event took place. This long-haul charter was carried out in collaboration with Peden Bloodstock, an internationally operating specialist in the transport of elite sport horses.
Infrastructure and processes
According to LGG’s statement, the operation highlights the company’s specially developed infrastructure tailored to the needs of horses during transport. Central to this is the Horse Inn, a dedicated equine facility at the airport that accommodates up to 54 horses in individually climate-controlled stalls. Direct access on the airside allows for the transport of the animals from the stable to the aircraft, thereby minimizing transport times and reducing stress from ramp conditions.
Additionally, veterinary services are available around the clock. Upon arrival at the airport, the ungulates are housed in the Horse Inn before being transported to their final destinations.
