Hellmann appoints new vice president in the automotive sector
Mar 6, 2026 at 2:00 PMThe Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) has announced the appointment of three executives for its new global business unit, Toyota Automated Logistics (TAL). Hitoshi Matsuoka (left) will serve as Global CEO, while Thomas Hibinger (right) will take responsibility for the EMEA and APAC regions. Aaron M. Jones (center) will act as CEO for the Americas region. The official launch of TAL is scheduled for April 1, 2026.
Integration of Competencies and Services
With the establishment of TAL, the competencies of Bastian Solutions, Vanderlande’s warehousing business, and viastore will be consolidated under a common brand. The goal is to offer an integrated portfolio of scalable systems, software solutions, and comprehensive lifecycle services for logistics and automation. Hitoshi Matsuoka emphasizes that the appointments of Hibinger and Jones reflect TICO’s commitment to further enhancing the group’s technological expertise and service offerings while creating a unified customer experience.
The intralogistics market is growing dynamically, driven by increasing demands for delivery speed and order accuracy. TAL plans to address these challenges with an integrated approach that supports customers at every stage of their automation journey. This ranges from automating manual processes in inventory warehouses to optimizing highly automated distribution centers used by large e-commerce platforms.
Strategic Direction and Market Opportunities
Hitoshi Matsuoka, who has been with Toyota in various roles since 1990, highlights that the vision of Hibinger and Jones has significantly contributed to the advancement of automated intralogistics. Thomas Hibinger, currently the president of viastore, sees the integration of global expertise as an opportunity to further develop automated intralogistics and provide additional value to customers worldwide.
Aaron M. Jones, president of Bastian Solutions, has significantly increased company growth during his tenure and will now lead the strategic direction of TAL in the Americas region.
