Feb 26, 2026 at 8:21 AMOcean Network Express (ONE) has announced a plan for the succession of its CEO. As the company stated on February 25, 2026, Till Ole Barrelet will join ONE as the designated CEO on May 1, 2026. He will take over the position of CEO from Jeremy Nixon on July 1, 2026, who will then serve as a Senior Advisor.
Since the founding of ONE in April 2018, Jeremy Nixon has significantly contributed to the transformation of the former Japanese shipping companies K Line, MOL, and NYK into a unified global container transportation company. Under his leadership, ONE has established itself as a significant player in container liner shipping, operating a fleet of over 260 vessels with a capacity of more than two million TEU.
Till Ole Barrelet brings more than 20 years of experience in the maritime and logistics industry. Most recently, he served as CEO of Emirates Shipping Line (ESL) and has extensive knowledge in ship ownership, financing, container transport, and trade development in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.
New Leadership Team for Future Growth
To better position ONE for the next phase of growth, the company will introduce a new structure for its Executive Management Team. This will consist of the CEO and seven representatives from all departments. The new leadership team will report directly to the CEO alongside six regional leaders. This expanded leadership structure aims to promote closer collaboration within ONE’s global matrix.
The announced changes are part of a planned leadership transition. The transition is intended to be seamless, without impacting customers and stakeholders.
Jotaro Tamura, the representative of the Board of Ocean Network Express Holdings Ltd., spoke positively about Jeremy Nixon’s contributions: “Jeremy built ONE from the ground up and established our corporate culture as well as our market position. We are very grateful for his strong leadership and vision that has created a financially robust company.”
Jeremy Nixon himself emphasized the significance of his time at ONE: “Leading ONE has been the defining chapter of my career. Together with an exceptional team, we have created something truly special.”
Till Ole Barrelet commented on his appointment: “It is an honor for me to lead Ocean Network Express during this critical phase. Jeremy has left a strong legacy with a talented team and a solid operational foundation. ONE is well-positioned to meet the challenges of the industry.”
