Air Charter Service reports revenue increase
Feb 25, 2026 at 9:15 AMIn an open letter, 45 European transport organizations have united to urge national governments to strengthen the funding of the transport sector in the upcoming EU budget. The organizations specifically demand that the budget of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) be increased to at least 100 billion euros, as reported by the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO).
Need for action in the transport sector
The transport organizations emphasize the necessity of a robust European transport network to meet the strategic goals of the EU. A modern and efficient transport infrastructure is crucial to enhance Europe’s resilience, improve military readiness, and secure industrial competitiveness. Additionally, EPSO highlights the importance of sovereignty in the supply chain.
Despite these demands, the sector faces significant underfunding and financing gaps according to EPSO. The organizations warn that without adequate support, the goals cannot be achieved. The ongoing trend of underfunding must be urgently reversed.
