Feb 18, 2026 at 3:09 PMMagaya Corporation has appointed Matthew Fotouhi as Chief Innovation Officer (CInO) to strengthen the company’s innovation capabilities. In his new role, Fotouhi will be responsible for company-wide innovation initiatives aimed at enhancing Magaya’s competitiveness and increasing operational efficiency. Previously, he served as Chief Technology Officer for Magaya Customs Compliance, where he significantly contributed to the advancement of the company’s compliance solutions.
Focus on New Technologies and Market Opportunities
Fotouhi will concentrate on promoting new technologies, identifying emerging market opportunities, and strategically implementing initiatives within the company. This will occur independently of his responsibilities for product development and daily technology operations. His goal is to ensure that Magaya remains at the forefront of innovation in global trade and logistics.
Fotouhi joined Magaya in 2020 after the company acquired the cloud-based platform ACELYNK, which he founded. Under his leadership, Magaya Customs Compliance has evolved into one of the most advanced solutions in the industry, continuously adapting to changing regulatory requirements and the increasing complexity of trade.
CEO Gary Nemmers stated, “Matthew applies innovation with speed and purpose. In an environment where tariffs and regulations can change overnight, he ensures that our customers have the tools and information they need to keep pace without interruption.”
Response to Regulatory Changes
Last year, Fotouhi played a crucial role in guiding customers through significant regulatory and political changes. He led the proactive automation of new tariff regimes, including complex tariff structures, and ensured that brokers were prepared for upcoming industry changes. Additionally, his team improved support for formal and informal entries to ensure operational continuity for high-volume brokers.
Fotouhi was also instrumental in developing new service offerings and pricing models to address the exponential increase in data complexity associated with evolving e-commerce registration requirements. Furthermore, he has driven the introduction of AI-powered features within Magaya Customs Compliance to enable intelligent automation.
“Technology must evolve as quickly as the industries it supports,” Fotouhi explained. “My focus is on developing intelligent systems that not only respond to changes but also anticipate them, helping our customers minimize risks and remain competitive.”
