Feb 18, 2026 at 1:42 PMFederal Express Corporation (FedEx) successfully transported over 9 tons of hot air balloons and drones from various regions of the world for the 26th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (PIHABF). The event took place from February 13 to 15, 2026, in New Clark City, Tarlac, under the theme „A Weekend for Everything That Flies.“
Maribeth Espinosa, Managing Director of FedEx Philippines, emphasized the significance of the event and FedEx’s role: „The Hot Air Balloon Fiesta represents the imagination that inspires flight, and we are proud that FedEx helped make this magic possible.“ She highlighted that FedEx’s global network and specialized freight solutions ensured that the over 20,000 pounds of oversized balloons and drones arrived safely and on time at their destination.
To optimize the transport of the complex and valuable cargo, FedEx employed advanced freight solutions. This included precise load planning and special handling for irregularly shaped shipments. Supported by dedicated operations teams and a robust airport infrastructure, FedEx was able to carry out the transports with the necessary speed and care required for an international aviation event.
The PIHABF attracts numerous visitors each year and provides a platform for showcasing aircraft and technologies. The transport of the balloons and drones presents a logistical challenge that FedEx successfully managed through its experience in handling demanding cargo.
