This initiative is supported by the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV) and includes collaborations with companies such as Bosch.
Data Products for Traffic Safety
As part of the „MDS Portal,“ the first data products from Bosch are currently being integrated, which are summarized under the term Connected Map Services. These services, particularly the so-called „Road Hazard Services,“ enable companies, infrastructure operators, as well as cities and municipalities to proactively warn drivers of potential dangers in road traffic. Matthias Dalmer, Senior Manager Data Access for Connected Map Services at Bosch, explains: “Through our Road Hazard Services, for example, warnings can be issued for wrong-way drivers, difficult road conditions such as wetness or icy surfaces, or road obstacles such as accidents or construction sites.”
