Feb 17, 2026 at 10:41 AMThe „HeavyDutyLoading System (HDLS)“ from Innofreight enables the transport of heavy-duty containers by rail, thereby expanding the company’s offerings for the rail transport of heavy goods. According to a company statement, this system can transport 20-foot containers weighing up to 56 tons, which represents a payload advantage of 8 tons compared to conventional systems, according to the manufacturer.
Loading and safety
The „HDLS“ is designed to allow loading without additional load securing. This is achieved through laterally mounted stop consoles. The construction ensures, according to Innofreight, that the cargo can be handled „quickly, safely, and gently on the material.“ Innofreight emphasizes that the system reduces CO₂e emissions by almost 75% compared to conventional truck transport.
The system utilizes the „30-foot InnoWaggons“ made of lightweight construction. A „2×30-foot InnoWaggon“ can transport up to 112 tons, according to the manufacturer, and is equipped with integrated ballast plates that also allow for empty transport. In the future, the HDLS will also be offered in combination with the single variant of the „30-foot InnoWaggon.“
