The logistics service provider DACHSER has implemented a web-based software solution from Logistikbude. This application allows for precise tracking of the specially developed retail boxes, which are available in various designs and sizes. The software’s „Live Cockpit“ consolidates all relevant information regarding the whereabouts of the load carriers. This is intended to simplify monitoring and control within the general cargo network, as the company reports.
With 433 locations worldwide and approximately 37,000 employees, DACHSER offers comprehensive services in the areas of transport logistics, warehousing, and customized services for various industries. A central component of DACHSER’s logistics processes is reusable load carriers such as pallets, racks, and containers. According to its own statements, DACHSER handles over 70 million such load carriers annually.
Sustainability through Reusable Systems
New to the portfolio is the retail box, developed in collaboration with a manufacturer of shopping and parcel trolleys. This load carrier has been designed for the transport of fashion, lifestyle, and cosmetic products. Additionally, the retail box is also used for transporting other sensitive goods, such as electronic products. The construction is available in two sizes: both in the dimensions of a Euro pallet and in half-pallet format.
