In 2020, China surpassed the USA and has since held the leading position in the international air freight market.
Stable Rankings Among the Top Three
Hong Kong and Germany have established themselves as the third and fourth ranked countries of origin in recent years. These two countries demonstrate consistent performance in the air freight sector and have maintained their positions from 2010 to 2025.
A remarkable rise is observed in India, which surpassed Japan in 2025 and now occupies the fifth position. The Netherlands also shows steady growth, improving from tenth place to seventh.
Shifts in the Ranking
Vietnam has developed significantly in recent years, reaching eleventh place among the countries of origin in 2020. In contrast, South Korea, which consistently held seventh place from 2010 to 2020, has dropped to twelfth place in 2025.
Another notable trend is the decline of Australia, which no longer ranks among the top 15 countries of origin. These changes in the ranking highlight the dynamic developments in the global air freight market and the shifting trade flows between countries.
