Feb 13, 2026 at 1:25 PMFlying Whales Services has selected the location for the world’s first school specializing in training for various professions related to airship operations. After two years of intensive studies and the evaluation of twelve potential sites in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, the decision was made in favor of the airfield in Agen (AGF).
The choice of Agen was made from both a technical and environmental perspective. According to Flying Whales Services, the site was the best option due to its minimal impact on the environment. „Although we considered three high-quality applications, we chose Agen because this project has the least ecological impact,“ explained a company representative.
Strategic Partnership and Regional Development
The decision for Agen is linked to the planned assembly plant in Laruscade, located in North Gironde. This combination aims to ensure a balanced geographical distribution and optimal coverage of regional needs. The establishment of the school is supported by government authorities as well as the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, as part of the Future Investment Program – France 2030, managed by the Caisse des Dépôts.
To commence operations at the school promptly, Flying Whales Services plans to launch a recruitment campaign in the coming weeks for about ten ground staff, including mechanics and riggers.
