Feb 13, 2026 at 11:41 AMMathias Lécuyer has taken on the position of Head of Research at Wiremind. In this role, he will define the company’s research and development strategy in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), lead the research team, and prioritize research directions in alignment with product and business strategies. Additionally, he will represent Wiremind externally, build academic and industrial partnerships, and ensure that research results are clearly communicated to provide greater value to customers.
Lécuyer, who studied computer science and AI at École Polytechnique, earned both a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Columbia University in New York, and subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Microsoft Research. For the past four years, he has served as a lecturer in computer science at the University of British Columbia, where he led a research lab focused on developing trustworthy AI models with stringent guarantees for privacy, robustness, explainability, and causality.
Long-standing Collaboration with Wiremind
Although Lécuyer is new to Wiremind, he has a long-standing connection with members of the company. He first met CTO and co-founder Charles Pierre during their studies at Columbia University. During his time at UBC, he also collaborated with Wiremind team members Thomas Crasson and Yacine Nabet on a research paper about causal forecasting models, the results of which are already being applied directly at Wiremind for customers.
Charles Pierre commented on Lécuyer’s appointment, emphasizing the importance of his skills and academic knowledge in bridging the gap between research and production. This is crucial for pushing the boundaries of revenue management further and developing new academic partnerships that position Wiremind as a leader in price analysis.
Research with Practical Benefits
Lécuyer sees Wiremind as a company that applies in-depth research directly to achieve real-world impacts. He explained that Wiremind tackles complex technical challenges that combine AI forecasting with automated decision-making processes to optimize capacity across various industries, from transportation to entertainment. With a strong technical team and a willingness to develop advanced solutions, Wiremind is already delivering market-leading performance and high returns for customers.
With Lécuyer’s entry into the company, Wiremind will continue to build on the existing momentum and pursue a coherent innovation strategy across the entire optimization spectrum to ensure that research-based insights and innovations deliver measurable results for customers.
