Where Flying Whales Attend School
Feb 13, 2026 at 3:00 PMEquitrans Logistics has taken on the responsibility for the international and regional transport logistics of horses for the Abu Dhabi round of the Longines League of Nations™. This event will take place from February 11 to 15 at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club and will be held in conjunction with the Emirates Jumping Cup.
In preparation for the event, Equitrans coordinated the arrival of 55 international competition horses, which were transported to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on two special long-haul charter flights. The logistical planning included seamless transport from stable to stable for the ten qualified teams from Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the USA. As the host nation, the UAE also participated in the team competition on February 13.
The two flights landed on February 7 and 8 at Dubai World Central (DWC) and were operated from Europe using Boeing 777 freighters. Of the 44 riders registered for the Abu Dhabi round, eight riders have horses permanently stabled in the UAE. The remaining participants are transporting their horses with a temporary permit for the event. Additionally, two riders will remain in the UAE after the competition to participate in the upcoming CSI5* at the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club.
Logistical Support for Additional Competitions
As part of the comprehensive logistical support for the event, Equitrans also organized the road transport of 35 horses from Sharjah to Abu Dhabi to support the additional international classes taking place alongside the main program of the Longines League of Nations™.
Following the conclusion of the event, Equitrans will oversee the coordinated departures on February 16, which will include two Boeing 777 flights from the UAE back to Europe.
The Abu Dhabi round of the Longines League of Nations™ marks the third consecutive year that Equitrans Logistics has been entrusted by the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation with the organization of horse transport for this event. This reflects the company’s experience in executing complex, time-sensitive logistical operations for high-profile horses.
David Robson, Managing Director of Equitrans Logistics, emphasized: “Events of this magnitude require careful planning and absolute precision. From coordinating the charter flights to managing the road transport, our focus is always on efficiency, welfare, and reliability.”
Mohammed Al Nakhi, Manager of the Showjumping Team of the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, added: “The movement of horses for an event of this scale requires a company with experience and consistency at the highest level. We are pleased to collaborate with Equitrans once again.”
