Port of Bilbao presents logistics services
Feb 13, 2026 at 10:09 AMAfter a pilot project, Alstom and the Swedish start-up Stilfold have expanded their collaboration. The aim of this deepened cooperation is to implement the Origami technology developed by Stilfold in additional train components and load-bearing steel structures. This initiative is intended to help reduce the weight of the constructions, decrease the ecological footprint, and simplify manufacturing without compromising the stability of the materials.
Alstom has intensified its collaboration with Stilfold following the successful testing phase, as the companies report. The partners plan to apply Stilfold’s Origami method to additional components and structural elements. This method is based on a controlled bending and folding process of steel sheets, which has been developed for industrial production. Hence the name Origami method.
