FPT, the brand of the Iveco Group, has won the „Sustainable Truck of the Year 2026“ award in the „Tractor Unit“ category in collaboration with IVECO. The award-winning IVECO „S-Way LNG“ is equipped with the „XCURSOR 13 NG engine“ and represents the commitment of both brands to make the transport sector more sustainable, as recently announced by FPT.
The „Sustainable Truck of the Year Awards“ were established in 2016 by the Italian trade magazine Vado e Torno. Each year, a jury of industry journalists awards this distinction. The evaluation criteria include aspects such as emissions reduction, safety performance, driving comfort, and the overall environmental impact of the vehicles.
According to the manufacturer, the „XCURSOR 13 NG“ is considered the most powerful natural gas engine on the market, offering a power output of 500 hp with a torque of 2,200 Nm. As part of the Iveco Group’s decarbonization program, the „XCURSOR 13 NG“ contributes to reducing CO₂ emissions, which can be lowered by up to 8% compared to the „MY22“ version, the company reports. Additionally, the engine features a weight reduction of 10% compared to the previous generation.
