Feb 12, 2026 at 8:52 AMPSA Halifax recently welcomed the „CMA CGM Cypress“ during its first deployment at the PSA Halifax Atlantic Hub. This deployment is part of the newly introduced „INDAMEX service,“ which aims to further enhance trade connections between the Indian subcontinent and Canada.
Expansion of the Trade Network
The „INDAMEX service“ connects India with the East Coast of Canada and includes ports in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, such as Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Colombo, Port Qasim, and Jeddah. The transit times and schedules of the service are designed to enable Canadian shippers to access growth markets in South Asia and the Middle East, as reported by PSA Halifax.
The „CMA CGM Cypress“ has a capacity of 8,586 TEU, and the new service will deploy ships with a capacity of up to 10,000 TEU. This highlights Halifax’s capabilities as a deep-water port equipped with mega-class cranes and advanced infrastructure, as stated by PSA Halifax.
