Feb 5, 2026 at 2:50 PMWorldwide Flight Services (WFS), a company of the SATS Group, has successfully completed a proof of concept for the Dimensioner in Motion system from CIND. This test, conducted over a period of 15 weeks at the cargo terminal of Copenhagen Airport, has confirmed the performance of the vision-based measurement system for palletized goods under real operational conditions. Due to the positive results, WFS plans to implement the Dimensioner in Motion system at several EMEAA locations.
At Several Locations
The next five airports where the system is to be implemented are Amsterdam, Stockholm-ARN, Barcelona, Liège, and Paris-CDG. The Dimensioner in Motion system utilizes stereo vision cameras, artificial intelligence, and algorithms to capture the dimensions and visual data of standard and non-standard pallets during transport. This occurs regardless of whether the pallets are moved by a forklift, conveyor belt, or automated guided vehicle (AGV). The precise measurements comply with international standards and ensure an accuracy of ±2 cm, which is crucial for the correct capture of cargo information and optimal use of airspace.
The system enables volume calculations to be performed in less than two seconds. In a high cargo volume environment, WFS expects that up to 500 pallets can be processed per hour.
Efficiency and Transparency
Jimi Daniel Hansen, SVP of Operational Excellence at WFS, stated: “The speed, accuracy, and reliability of the Dimensioner in Motion system compared to traditional manual measurement methods is significantly more efficient and will enhance the entire cargo flow in our operations.” The system provides structured data reports on individual measurements and shipments, as well as photographic evidence of the measurements. Additionally, it conducts a stackability analysis to determine whether a pallet is suitable for stacking.
The introduction of the Dimensioner in Motion system represents the latest collaboration between WFS and CIND in the field of digitization. This partnership aims to enhance safety, transparency, and productivity in operational processes through automated, vision-based technologies for cargo measurement. Furthermore, it supports WFS’s strategy to leverage new automation and digital technologies to transform cargo handling in a global network of 225 stations across 27 countries.
Marcus Schelin, CEO of CIND AB, emphasized the long-standing collaboration: “We have worked closely with WFS for many years and set new standards together. The Dimensioner in Motion system is no exception. In recent months, we have validated new features together that meet the demanding requirements of air freight.”
