Jan 28, 2026 at 11:51 AMWexco Cargo GSSA has been appointed as the General Sales Agent for Alaska Airlines in the United Kingdom. This decision supports the airline’s introduction of long-haul services from London Heathrow, scheduled for late May 2026.
Wexco, a company of Kales Group B.V., will take on the areas of cargo sales, marketing, and customer service in the UK in its role as General Sales Agent. Ian Morgan (photo), Vice President Cargo at Alaska Airlines, emphasizes the strategic importance of the UK market for the airline’s cargo business. „Partnering with Wexco allows us to have a strong local presence as we introduce new long-haul services from London Heathrow,“ said Morgan.
The planned daily flights with wide-body aircraft from London Heathrow to Seattle, USA, aim to create new capacities in long-haul cargo transport and provide connections to over 100 destinations in North America, Hawaii, Central America, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Des Vertannes, Managing Director of Wexco Cargo GSSA, stated, „We are very proud to represent Alaska Airlines in the UK, especially at such a crucial time in the airline’s growth strategy.“ He added that the partnership reflects confidence in Wexco’s ability to successfully tap into a new market and provide high-quality service.
Wexco will support Alaska Airlines through targeted sales and marketing activities, providing real-time capacity overviews, yield management, and live reporting metrics. Gemma Griffiths, Commercial Director at Wexco Cargo GSSA, described the collaboration as an exciting opportunity to bring the teams together and develop a shared focus.
Alaska Air Group, the parent company of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, unites two airlines with a long history in aviation and complementary networks in North America, Hawaii, and the Pacific region. Morgan highlights that both airlines have over nine decades of experience in commercial aviation and have played a significant role in the development of the industry.
In addition to the new connections from London Heathrow, Alaska Airlines is also planning new routes from Rome, Italy, and Keflavik, Iceland, starting in mid-2026, to support cargo flow between the United Kingdom, Europe, and North America.
