Driver shortage in German freight transport
Jan 28, 2026 at 10:47 AMCyngn has announced that the number of autonomous DriveMod Tuggers sold in 2025 has tripled compared to the previous year. This development reflects an increasing acceptance among customers as well as expanded operational activity at various company locations.
In recent months, Cyngn’s teams in sales, engineering, customer support, and operations have undergone an intensive implementation phase to support this growth. This included numerous on-site visits to customers to assess workflows and validate deployment scenarios. Additionally, several demonstrations of the DriveMod Tuggers took place, and consecutive upgrades of the software versions DriveMod 10.8 and Enterprise Autonomy Suite 3.0 were carried out at active customer sites. Furthermore, efforts were made to enhance fleet readiness in preparation for a new batch of vehicles to meet rising demand.
The company plans to initiate further deployments in early 2026, including implementations with multiple vehicles and fleet expansions at existing customer locations.
Lior Tal, CEO of Cyngn, commented on the developments: “The doubling of orders year-over-year demonstrates real operational momentum. Our teams are focused on demonstrations, upgrades, and fleet preparation, and we are committed to translating this progress into sustainable commercial performance.”
This announcement follows a funding round of $32 million and an expanded collaboration with NVIDIA to support the development of next-generation autonomous vehicles.
Cyngn develops and implements technologies for autonomous vehicles specifically designed for industrial organizations such as manufacturers and logistics companies. The company addresses significant challenges faced by industrial organizations today, including labor shortages and costly safety incidents.
Cyngn’s DriveMod technology enables customers to integrate self-driving technologies into their operations without high upfront costs or extensive infrastructure installations. The DriveMod Tugger can transport loads of up to 5,443 kg, operate both indoors and outdoors, and has a typical payback period of less than two years. The DriveMod Forklift lifts heavy loads that do not use standardized pallets and is currently available for select customers.
