Jan 23, 2026 at 10:39 AMFederal Express Corporation (FedEx) has appointed Salil Chari as the new President of the Asia-Pacific region. Chari, who previously served as Senior Vice President for Marketing and Customer Experience in the APAC region, assumed his new position on January 1, 2026. He succeeds Kawal Preet, who has transitioned to a new role as Executive Vice President for Planning, Engineering, and Transformation.
In his role as regional president, Chari is responsible for the strategic direction of the company and leads a team of nearly 30,000 employees in the APAC region. His responsibilities include driving profitable growth, delivering outstanding customer experiences, and enhancing operational excellence in the region.
Richard W. Smith, Chief Operating Officer of FedEx International, commented positively on the appointment: “I am pleased to welcome Salil as the new President for Asia-Pacific. Salil Chari began his career at FedEx in 1997 as a marketing analyst in Memphis, USA. Through various leadership positions in Latin America, the Caribbean, the APAC region, as well as in the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, and Africa, he has consistently focused on enhancing the customer experience and supporting businesses in expanding their global reach and seizing new market opportunities.
