Partnership between SATS and Zhejiang Airport
Jan 23, 2026 at 7:33 AMWexco Cargo GSSA and China Airlines have reached a new two-year agreement to continue their partnership as General Sales Agent in the United Kingdom. The agreement, which comes into effect this month, marks over 15 years of collaboration between the two companies.
Wexco has been supporting China Airlines with cargo operations in the United Kingdom since 2012. This includes the use of cargo space in passenger aircraft, dedicated cargo flights, and road transport. The close cooperation extends across several locations, including London Heathrow Airport (LHR), Luxembourg Airport (LUX), and Taipei Airport (TPE) in Taiwan.
Des Vertannes (photo), Managing Director of Wexco, emphasizes the importance of the collaboration: “China Airlines and Wexco define how tangible cooperation can deliver optimal results and successes.” He highlights that the shared focus on solution-oriented outcomes and a customer-centric approach has enabled both companies to maintain a consistently high service standard in the UK market.
China Airlines currently operates five direct flights per week from LHR to TPE. Additionally, cargo flights via LUX are offered, supported by regular road transport from the United Kingdom. These connections also provide access to selected Asian destinations, including Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Manila.
Alan Price, Head of Cargo Sales and Services in Europe at China Airlines, speaks positively about the partnership: “We have always felt that China Airlines is excellently represented in the United Kingdom by Wexco and that our customers are in very good hands.” He appreciates Wexco both on a professional and personal level and sees further growth in the collaboration.
Throughout the partnership, Wexco has assisted China Airlines in adapting and expanding its cargo offerings. This included support for „Preighter“ flights during the pandemic as well as adjustments to road transport in line with new customs regulations following Brexit.
Mandy Kwok, Airport Manager of China Airlines in London, highlights the close collaboration: “China Airlines London is proud to work closely with Wexco. Their support enables us to offer seamless and reliable cargo operations in the markets we serve.” She emphasizes that the close cooperation forms the basis for providing high-quality service to British customers.
Des Vertannes adds that the extension of the partnership goes beyond the 15-year mark and reflects the commitment of both teams. He expresses gratitude for the trust that China Airlines places in Wexco and emphasizes the intention of both companies to further develop the partnership and achieve new milestones together.
