Jan 22, 2026 at 8:42 AMRiyadh Air has announced the launch of its cargo operations under the brand „Riyadh Cargo.“ This initiative marks the airline’s entry into the global air freight market and activates the use of cargo space in its modern fleet of over 120 wide-body aircraft. Riyadh Cargo’s strategy aims to efficiently utilize the airline’s capacities to reliably transport goods and connect global markets.
Strategic Development and Operational Efficiency
Since the recent commencement of cargo operations, Riyadh Cargo has already made significant progress on the route from Riyadh to London Heathrow, where a variety of goods, including textiles, fresh flowers, seafood, tea, and coffee, have been transported. These successes highlight the company’s ability to reliably handle time-sensitive, perishable, and valuable shipments.
Digital Solutions and Strategic Partnerships
In line with its digitally native origins, Riyadh Cargo has partnered with Champ’s „Cargo spot-neo,“ a modern platform for end-to-end cargo management. This digital management system enhances operational control and data availability, supporting more responsive decision-making as volumes and network complexity increase. Additionally, the cargo operations are supported by strategic investments in digitally tracked unit load devices (ULDs) (Unilode).
Infrastructure and Future Perspectives
The handling and hub management of the cargo will be conducted in collaboration with Sats Saudi Arabia Company. Services will be offered at key airports in the Kingdom, including King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, and King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. These locations feature modern facilities, specialized handling zones, and a central hub management system that enables real-time monitoring and seamless cargo connections.
