Jan 20, 2026 at 10:33 AMRoughly 500 guests gathered at the Brewery in London to learn about the winners of the BIFA Freight Service Awards 2025. The event’s host, Steve Backshall, known as a TV presenter, adventurer, author, and conservationist, announced the names of the nine winning companies and two outstanding individuals across eleven categories.
Steve Parker, Managing Director of the British International Freight Association (BIFA), highlighted the high quality of the submissions. This year, 33 freight forwarding companies made it to the shortlists in the nine service categories, with seven of them receiving recognition in multiple categories. Additionally, £4,500 was raised for BIFA’s charity partner, Transaid, during the event.
Winners in Various Categories
In the category „Air Freight Forwarder of the Year,“ sponsored by IAG Cargo, JCS Livestock triumphed over Atlantic Pacific Global Logistics, KLN Freight (UK), and Pro-Logist. ALS Customs Services won in the „Customs Compliance Services“ category (sponsored by CNS) and managed to stand out against strong competition from EV Cargo Global Forwarding, Samphire Customs, Seafast Logistics, and UK Customs Solutions.
Simpex Express was named the best European logistics provider of the year, surpassing Brunel European, JPM Future, and Transportify. In the „Extra Mile“ category, sponsored by Descartes Systems, Carousel Logistics won, while Efret, JCS Livestock, Mercury Freight, and UPS SCS were also nominated.
DFDS Logistics triumphed in the „Project Forwarding“ category (sponsored by BT), defeating Deugro (UK), DHL Global Forwarding, and Killick Martin & Co. Denholm Good Logistics was awarded „Sea Freight Forwarder of the Year,“ beating KLN Freight (UK) and Rohlig UK. Unsworth UK won in the „Staff Development“ category (sponsored by Albacore Systems), leaving Ital Logistics, Metro Shipping, Neon Freight, and Pro Carrier behind.
In the „Sustainable Logistics & the Environment“ category (sponsored by American Airlines Cargo), Freight Systems Express (Wales) was crowned the winner, followed by Baxter Freight, Carousel Logistics, and DFDS Logistics. In the „Value-Added Services“ category (sponsored by Menzies LLP), IFE Global Logistics triumphed over Elite Logistics Consultants, HSM Global, and Uniserve.
Individual Awards
In the two individual categories, Veronika Litterova from Avocet Clearance was named „Apprentice of the Year“ (sponsored by World Insurance Services, Inc.). She triumphed over strong competitors such as Dylan Cheesman and Nathan Brooks from Unsworth UK, as well as Peter Boyd and Joseph Findlay from DHL Global Forwarding (UK). Joshua Harbottle from cargo-partner was awarded „Young Freight Forwarder of the Year“ (sponsored by Virgin Atlantic Cargo), surpassing Nathan George from DSV, Rachel Townsley from IFE Global Group, and Mitchell Ward-Broadfield from Rohlig UK.
Parker commented on the awards: „The BIFA Freight Service Awards are regarded by many as the Oscars of the British freight forwarding and logistics industry. We are once again pleased with the number and diversity of the submissions.“ He thanked the sponsors for their valuable contributions and the time they invested in evaluating and selecting the winners to ensure the success of the competition.
