IAT Leasing restructures management

Awery Aviation Software has welcomed two experienced professionals from the air freight industry, David Kerr (photo) and Christian Gessner, to its team. These new additions are intended to support the company’s growth and expand its international customer base.
Gessner will serve as Business Development Manager and strengthen Awery’s commercial department. He brings over twenty years of experience in air freight, including roles at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and various aviation software companies. His expertise encompasses sales, marketing, and supporting the development and implementation of technologies in the air freight sector. Gessner commented on his new role: “Awery has built a strong reputation by providing ERP solutions that support the daily operations of freight operators while playing a key role in accelerating technology adoption in an industry that has historically been slow to digitize.”
Kerr will support Awery in an advisory capacity and brings extensive leadership experience from the air freight sector. He spent nearly a decade at American Airlines and subsequently held senior positions at Etihad Cargo and European Cargo. Kerr emphasized: “I have worked closely with airline cargo teams for many years and understand the operational priorities and challenges faced by Awery’s customers.”
The investment in Awery’s commercial team reflects the company’s long-term goal of providing technology-driven solutions tailored to customer needs. Tristan Koch, Chief Commercial Officer of Awery, stated: “As Awery continues to grow, we are building our team with the best in the industry. Both David and Christian have made a name for themselves in air freight, and their experience will be crucial in continuing Awery’s success and expanding our commercial reach.”
