Jan 15, 2026 at 9:43 AMManhattan Associates has announced the market launch of its new AI agents, which are integrated into all Manhattan Active® solutions. These agents are designed to optimize retail and supply chain processes by making real-time decisions and improving operational workflows. Unlike traditional overlay solutions that rely on outdated databases, the new agents are embedded directly into the Manhattan Active® platform. This allows for a comprehensive view of the operational context and a faster response to changes.
The AI agents are intended to increase efficiency in various areas. They act as digital assistants specifically developed for key user roles within the Manhattan Active solutions. These agents assist employees in simplifying tasks and making decisions, which is expected to lead to higher productivity. Additionally, they take over repetitive tasks, identify operational issues, and resolve them automatically, thereby reducing manual effort.
Diverse Applications of the AI Agents
Within Manhattan’s omnichannel solutions, the Store Associate Agent, for example, provides real-time assessments of sales performance. The Contact Center Agent delivers context-specific information that enhances employee efficiency in retail. In the supply chain area, the Labor Agent assists with workforce planning, while the Shipment Tracking Agent identifies potential issues and suggests solutions.
Customers also gain access to the Manhattan Agent Foundry™, a platform that enables the creation of new agents using simple, natural language or the customization of existing agents. These agents are compatible with the A2A and MCP Agentic communication standards, ensuring seamless interoperability.
Eaton, a company specializing in intelligent energy management, is already utilizing several Active Agents in warehouse management. By employing the Wave Coordinator Agent and the Labor Agent, Eaton can deploy its employees more flexibly and optimize order processing. Together with Manhattan, a Dock Agent has also been developed to monitor workflows and expedite specific tasks.
Steve Sprecher, IT Director at Eaton, commented on the benefits of the agents: “Active Agents provide real-time insights and directly actionable recommendations that improve operational efficiency.” He emphasized that the recommendations for workforce planning help increase efficiency and allocate resources more effectively.
Sanjeev Siotia, EVP & CTO at Manhattan Associates, stated that the AI agents fundamentally change the efficiency of retail and supply chain solutions. He stressed that the agents not only assist but also actively act to diagnose operational problems and coordinate workflows. This enables customers to operate more quickly and efficiently in a competitive environment.
