Jan 14, 2026 at 7:58 AMThe Lübeck Port Company (LHG) has appointed a new Sales Manager at the beginning of 2026. Jan Schwarz takes over responsibility for marketing and sales, succeeding Michael Rudnik, who passed away last year.
Jan Schwarz brings extensive experience from the international shipping and logistics industry. Born in 1976 in Boizenburg, he began his professional career after military service with an apprenticeship at COSCO Germany in Hamburg, the subsidiary of the Chinese shipping company COSCO Shipping Lines. Until 2016, he held various positions at China Shipping, which later merged with COSCO. Since 2018, he has led sales for Germany.
Experience and Perspectives
Sebastian Jürgens, Managing Director of LHG, commented on Schwarz’s appointment: “With Jan Schwarz, we gain a recognized expert in the maritime economy, who understands international liner shipping as well as the requirements of a high-performance universal port.” Jürgens emphasizes that Schwarz’s experience in global shipping and project business will provide important impulses for the future positioning of LHG.
In his new role, Jan Schwarz will be responsible for the strategic development of the LHG brand and will promote the marketing of the port locations Lübeck and Travemünde both nationally and internationally. Schwarz is married and the father of two daughters.
The Lübeck Port Company mbH is known as the largest RoRo port operator in the Baltic Sea. Regular sea traffic to the Baltic region is offered at its four port terminals. LHG consolidates cargo units and connects them to the hinterland through efficient systems. LHG’s partners include companies from the paper, steel, and automotive industries.
