Zalando has announced plans to revise its pan-European logistics network. According to the company, it intends to adjust its structures to continue offering competitive services for customers and partners. In recent months, the company has reviewed its logistics network. Based on this analysis, Zalando has decided to adjust its capacities in the combined network with ABOUT YOU.
Closure of the Fulfillment Center in Erfurt
As part of this realignment, Zalando has decided to close the fulfillment center in Erfurt, Germany, by the end of September 2026. Additionally, operations in three other warehouses outside Germany, which are operated by external service providers for Zalando and ABOUT YOU, will be discontinued.
Negotiations with the works council in Erfurt regarding a reconciliation of interests and a social plan are set to begin immediately, the company reports. Furthermore, it has developed a support program in collaboration with external experts, which will be made available to the affected employees. In Erfurt, around 2,700 employees have been part of the Zalando team for over a decade.
