Jan 8, 2026 at 11:00 AMThe Containerization & Intermodal Institute (CII) has elected six new members to its board. This decision was announced on January 1, 2026. The newly elected board members bring extensive experience from the logistics and transportation industry and are expected to support the educational mission of the institute.
New Board Members and Their Backgrounds
The new members include Rado Saragih (left), Manager for Shipper Outreach at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Susan Shey Dvonch (middle), Managing Partner at Shey-Harding Executive Search, and Tong Zhu (right), Chief Commercial and Strategy Officer of the Northwest Seaport Alliance, completing the new board team. Susan Gardner, Vice President of Operations at the Georgia Ports Authority, Reade Kidd, CEO and co-founder of EDRAY, and Zach Martin, Senior Vice President and Head of the Intermodal Division at Odyssey Logistics, are also new to the board.
Lisa Aurichio, the Executive Director of CII, commented on the elections: “We are pleased to announce our new board members, whose experience and leadership will contribute to the advancement of CII’s educational mission.”
Composition of the Executive Committee for 2026
In addition to the new board members, the Executive Committee for 2026 was also introduced. Chris Brooks, Executive Director of the Journal of Commerce by S&P Global, will serve as President. Lisa Wheldon from Medlog Companies will act as First Vice President, while Michael DiVirgilio from MJ DiVirgilio Associates will serve as Second Vice President. John Moseley, Chief Commercial Officer of Port Houston, will be the Treasurer, and Michele Grubbs, Vice President of the Pacific Merchant Shipping Association, will take on the role of Secretary.
Chris Brooks emphasized the importance of the outgoing board members, who will transition to advisory roles. These members have significantly contributed to CII’s mission and will remain active in an advisory capacity. The outgoing members include Cate Avolio, Sue Coffey, Noel Hacegaba, Greg Tuthill, and Mike Wilson.
About the Containerization & Intermodal Institute
CII was founded in 1960 and is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting international trade and the intermodal container transportation industry. It advocates for industry awareness, preserves the history of intermodal transport, and supports professional and academic excellence through educational offerings, industry forums, and scholarships. Since the launch of its scholarship program in 1992, CII has awarded over $1 million to students and institutions to foster the next generation of leaders in supply chain and logistics.
