Zalando closes fulfillment center in Erfurt
Jan 8, 2026 at 1:53 PMCERP, a pharmaceutical wholesaler in France, and intralogistics expert SSI Schäfer have continued their collaboration with the construction of a new logistics center in Wissous. This project aims to maximize efficiency and delivery quality in pharmaceutical logistics, as stated by SSI Schäfer. The facility is set to open in October 2026, with commissioning planned for the turn of the year 2027/28.
Logistics Center in Wissous
The logistics center will be realized as a „greenfield project with a high degree of automation“ and is intended to take over the operations of the site in Le Plessis-Robinson. Covering an area of 15,000 m², the new site is expected to handle around 30,000 items (SKUs). The optimization of processes is intended to enable CERP to respond more flexibly to the demands of customers and markets.
The planned solution consists of various storage and picking systems, storage containers, conveyor technology, as well as a pusher sorter designed to ensure smooth shipping processes. A central element of the new warehouse will be a shuttle system with over 90,000 storage locations, aimed at providing high capacity and short access times. Additionally, two „SSI Piece Picking Robots,“ three „Advanced Pick Stations,“ and an automated A-Frame system with more than 2,900 product channels will be deployed. These technologies are expected to advance fast and ergonomic picking based on the „goods-to-person“ principle, as reported by the company.
