Jan 8, 2026 at 8:32 AMAnacostia Rail Holdings has appointed Aimee Nolan as the new Chief Legal Officer. This decision takes effect immediately. In her new role, Nolan will be part of the company’s leadership team and will be responsible for the areas of law, compliance, governance, and risk management. This is intended to support the company in its growth strategy and long-term mission.
Nolan succeeds Mark Sidman, who will retire on March 31, 2026, after more than a decade with the company. Sidman joined Anacostia Rail Holdings in 2013 and has since been a valued advisor within the corporate leadership. He played a crucial role in supporting the company’s growth and strengthening governance structures.
Prior to her appointment, Nolan served as General Counsel at Zoro Tools, Inc., a subsidiary of W.W. Grainger, Inc. There, she was also a member of the leadership team and guided the company during its expansion and transformation. Previously, she spent over 25 years at W.W. Grainger, Inc., most recently as Vice President and Associate General Counsel. In this role, she advised on various areas, including technology and e-commerce, data privacy, crisis management, global sourcing, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory compliance.
Peter Gilbertson, CEO of Anacostia Rail Holdings, commented on Sidman’s contributions: „Mark’s steadfast leadership and counsel have helped shape who we are today, and we are very grateful for his many contributions.“ He also emphasized that Nolan brings the necessary experience with her strategic thinking and operational discipline to responsibly advance the company.
Nolan holds a Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, as well as a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and French from Michigan State University. Additionally, she has completed an Executive Leadership program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and is actively engaged in civil society and the non-profit sector.
