Jan 8, 2026 at 9:18 AMAD Ports Group has strengthened its leadership structure in the logistics sector by appointing several senior executives. Under the leadership of Jochen Thewes, who was recently appointed CEO of the logistics cluster, the company aims to expand its position as a provider of logistics services on a global level. These appointments are part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance the competitiveness of the logistics cluster and build on the existing foundations of Noatum Logistics.
Global Appointments
To drive growth in the global product area, Thorsten Meincke has been appointed Executive Vice President for Ocean Freight and Air Freight at Noatum Logistics. With over 20 years of international leadership experience, Meincke was previously COO and a member of the management board at DB Schenker, where he led global air and ocean freight operations. Prior to that, he held various senior positions at Kuehne + Nagel, including Senior Vice President for Global Ocean Freight.
In addition to Meincke, two other executives have been appointed: Björn Eckbauer takes on the role of Senior Vice President for Development and Procurement in the air freight sector. Eckbauer brings over 30 years of experience in the air freight industry and was most recently Senior Vice President for Global Operations and Procurement at DB Schenker. Boris Kuehn has been appointed Senior Vice President for Mergers and Acquisitions and brings extensive knowledge in the areas of M&A and corporate development.
Regional Leadership Positions
To strengthen the regional operations of Noatum Logistics, three experienced executives have been appointed. Thorsten Pook will serve as Managing Director for the Middle East region and brings over 30 years of experience in international logistics, including as COO and Managing Director at CEVA Logistics. Samad Osman takes on the role of Managing Director for the Africa region and has over 20 years of industry experience, including at Hapag-Lloyd and Kuehne + Nagel. Roberto Moreno will be Managing Director for the Latin America region and has extensive experience in leading companies in the area, most recently as CEO for Canada and Latin America at DB Schenker.
Jochen Thewes, CEO of the logistics cluster, emphasizes the importance of the newly formed team: “We have built a team of experts with extensive knowledge in multimodal freight logistics and in M&A.
