Jan 7, 2026 at 9:48 AMSallaum Lines has announced the delivery of its latest Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) „MV Ocean Explorer.“ This vessel is part of the company’s Ocean-Class fleet and represents a significant step in its fleet expansion strategy, according to the company. The arrival of the new ship is intended to support Sallaum Lines‘ commitment to sustainable and energy-efficient maritime operations.
Technological Advances for Emission Reduction
The MV „Ocean Explorer“ meets international standards regarding environmental performance and operational efficiency. It is equipped with an LNG dual-fuel propulsion system designed to significantly reduce emissions of CO₂, NOx, SOx, and particulates. This technological development aligns with Sallaum Lines‘ vision to advance decarbonization in the RoRo shipping sector.
The ship was built by Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Ltd. and has an overall length of 199.90 m and a width of 38 m. It can accommodate up to 7,500 Car Equivalent Units (CEU) across 13 decks and is powered by an LNG fuel system with a total capacity of approximately 3,500 m³.
