Jan 6, 2026 at 2:02 PMLiege Airport has announced the introduction of a new regular cargo flight connection with Chongqing. Starting January 5, 2024, Suparna Airlines will operate regular flights between Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport and Liege Airport. This connection represents the first direct air freight link between these two locations and significantly expands the cargo network of Liege Airport.
Strategic Importance of the New Connection
Chongqing is considered one of the most significant industrial, logistics, and e-commerce centers in China and plays a crucial role in global supply chains. The new connection will support the transport of e-commerce goods, high-tech products, automotive components, and industrial goods. This provides shippers with a fast and reliable solution for the movement of goods between Western China and the European market.
Torsten, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Liege Airport, commented on the new connection: “We are pleased to welcome Suparna Airlines to Liege Airport and to launch our first direct regular connection with Chongqing. Chongqing is an important new addition to our network and further confirms Liege’s role as a trusted and efficient gateway between China and Europe.”
A representative from the management of Chongqing Airport added: “The introduction of this direct regular service to Liege is an important step in expanding Chongqing’s international cargo network. This new connection strengthens trade relations with Europe and highlights Chongqing’s role as a central logistics hub in Western China.”
With this new regular connection, Liege Airport continues its efforts to expand the Asian cargo network and strengthen long-term partnerships with international cargo airlines. This is in line with the changing demands of global logistics and cross-border trade.
