To attract young talents and career changers to intralogistics, the Wirtschaftsmacher and EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress GmbH have initiated a cooperation on the occasion of LogiMAT 2026. This partnership aims to promote and make visible the diversity and attractiveness of the industry. A central element of the initiative is a comprehensive study on the working world in logistics and intralogistics, conducted in collaboration with a renowned market research institute.
The Wirtschaftsmacher, an initiative active since 2019 with around 100 supporters, advocates for a positive image of the logistics industry in the public eye. EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress GmbH, which organizes LogiMAT, supports these efforts. The campaigns of the Wirtschaftsmacher specifically target career starters, students, and professionals looking to switch fields. The goal is to spark interest in careers within the transport and logistics sector.
Focus on Career Opportunities and Skilled Labor Shortage
LogiMAT, an international trade fair in Stuttgart, has also dedicated itself to the topic of „Jobs in Intralogistics“ and plans to further expand this area. During the upcoming LogiMAT CareerDay, taking place on March 26, 2026, the focus will be on engaging students and professionals considering a transition into the industry. This is particularly relevant for the Stuttgart metropolitan area, characterized by a multitude of smaller companies, especially in the supply industry.
The cooperation between the Wirtschaftsmacher and EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress GmbH aims to increase the visibility of the intralogistics sector and inspire young people to pursue careers in this field. Michael Ruchty, head of LogiMAT Stuttgart, expressed positive sentiments about the collaboration: „We are very pleased to work with the Wirtschaftsmacher – together we are sending a strong signal for the future of intralogistics and its attractiveness as an employer sector.“
A central element of the cooperation is the study „Working World (Intra-) Logistics,“ which highlights the challenges of the skilled labor shortage as well as the diverse career opportunities in the industry. The results of this study will be presented at a press conference on March 24, 2026, during LogiMAT. The presentation of the study results is intended to continue in the following years to make development trends in the industry visible.
Additionally, the supporting program for the LogiMAT CareerDay will be designed in close collaboration with the Wirtschaftsmacher. They will leverage their contacts with schools and universities to promote the event. An interactive format called FireCamp will also be part of the program. This will focus on professional profiles from intralogistics, allowing participants to engage directly with company representatives from HR. The exhibitors at LogiMAT will present themselves as potential employers, and the subsequent visit to the fair will provide participants with a hands-on experience in intralogistics.
Jens Tosse, co-initiator of the Wirtschaftsmacher, emphasizes the importance of the initiative: „With the joint study and FireCamp, we are making the diversity of career opportunities in logistics visible. Furthermore, we are inspiring young people for this industry.“ The Wirtschaftsmacher have been part of teamblick GbR, a joint venture of the communication agencies mainblick and teamtosse, since July 2025. Uwe Berndt, also a co-initiator of the Wirtschaftsmacher, adds: „Through this cooperation, we are connecting two strong approaches: While the Wirtschaftsmacher contribute to a positive image of logistics with their campaign work, LogiMAT provides the perfect stage for direct encounters between young talents and employers.“
