Online Retailer Galaxus Restructures Logistics Location in Krefeld

Steffen Beniers is promoted to Site Lead at the online retailer Galaxus. The merging of the two warehouses marks the beginning of a targeted restructuring of the Krefeld management level. Beniers is thus promoted from Leader Logistics to Site Lead Krefeld. He will take on additional responsibilities related to the administration of the site, including promoting collaboration at the location and expanding it.

(Krefeld) Robert Brohl, Head of Supply Chain Management at Galaxus: “Steffen was the very first logistics employee at Galaxus in Germany and has been with us since the start in 2018. He has enabled and supported strong growth. In collaboration with the Swiss logistics teams, he has always found the right solutions for Krefeld. I am pleased that he is now officially taking responsibility for the entire Krefeld site.”

Most recently, Robert Brohl was the site manager in Krefeld. However, due to his new role as Head of Supply Chain Management at Digitec Galaxus, he had to put this role on hold. The responsibilities were distributed internally among several individuals, leaving the site manager position formally unfilled. In light of the consolidation of logistics at the Krefeld-Hüls site and the closure of the warehouse in Krefeld-Fischeln, it was decided to assign the site management role to Steffen Beniers.

All 13 employees of the first warehouse “Hans” (Hans-Günther-Sohl-Straße) will move to the new hall “Odilia” (Odilia-von-Goch-Straße) and continue working there. “I am very pleased that we can now focus on the Hüls warehouse and that all colleagues from Fischeln will come to our new location,” says Steffen Beniers. However, a few employees had already started looking for new jobs in 2025 and parted ways with Galaxus as they did not want to relocate. Hans will close in April 2026. A total of around 150 people work at Galaxus in Krefeld.

New Responsibilities for Other Individuals

The former manager of the large parts warehouse Hans, Stephanie Oelmann, will become the new Outbound Manager at the Odilia site. The previous Leader Outbound, Matthias Preukschat, will now take care of logistics planning, analytics, and workflow management. Both will continue to report to Steffen Beniers.
