Fivefold Joy at the Baltic Rail Gate in Travemünde
Oct 30, 2025 at 7:53 PMThe transport platform Transporeon secured 1st place (Gold) at the German Telematics Award 2026 in the category “Visibility Platforms / Freight Exchanges.” The award was presented at the Dekra Future Congress for Commercial Vehicles. The prize is awarded every two years. The jury was particularly impressed that the Transporeon solution could cover the most use cases while being very user-friendly.
(Ulm/Berlin) “Our platform is not just about making a shipment visible, but about anchoring this information throughout the entire supply chain,” explains Bernhard Schmaldienst, Associate VP Transporeon Products. “This enables smooth end-to-end processes from procurement to execution to billing.” The solutions are modularly structured, allowing them to be integrated into any existing overall system and combined with other Transporeon modules to achieve a unified user experience. At the same time, the platform provides access to 180,000 transport companies and freight forwarders, as well as over 1,500 shippers and a network of industry partners that includes telematics, yard solutions, TMS, and ERP systems.
Innovative Power through AI
This year’s award focused on the AI methods of the systems. Here, too, Transporeon was able to score points with its solutions. In freight procurement within the Freight Marketplace solutions, transport companies can automate the creation of offers with the help of AI. They set rules regarding relations and margins, and the AI takes over the creation of the offers. This can reduce manual tasks related to freight offers by up to 70 percent. Advanced AI and machine learning algorithms are used for ETA calculation in visibility. The system has access to a database of historical transport data and routes, which is combined with current weather and traffic data. Through continuous learning, accuracy can be constantly improved. The ETA data, for example, is integrated into the time-slot management solution. “We stand for a multimodal end-to-end transport management with a modular system whose solutions are based on state-of-the-art AI technology,” summarizes Bernhard Schmaldienst. “We are very proud that our approach was awarded first prize in this category.”
The Evaluation Process
The winners in the ten categories were determined after three rounds: First, participants had to complete written tests, followed by a practical technical examination, and finally, questionnaires regarding the dissemination, innovation power, and development perspective of the solution were filled out. A six-member jury evaluated the individual functions as well as the associated information presentation and usability of the systems.
