Oct 20, 2025 at 8:57 PMForto, one of the leading providers of digital freight solutions, has today launched FortoLabs – a new platform that offers agent-based AI technologies for the supply chain as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). The solutions are now available to a broad market and aim to sustainably increase the productivity, accuracy, and resilience of global supply chains.
(Berlin) FortoLabs builds on AI capabilities developed and tested within Forto’s own operational teams, which have achieved measurable productivity gains. Forto now offers these technologies as standalone products for the entire logistics ecosystem.
The first product, “LumoDoc,” is an AI-powered agent-based solution for document processing that enables efficiency gains of up to 90 percent, depending on the use case. The generative AI categorizes incoming logistics documents received via email or API, extracts the relevant data, and passes it on in structured form to downstream IT systems. All common logistics documents are already supported, including packing lists, customs documents, invoices, and many more.
From Internal Innovation to External Product
Developed by Forto for the broad logistics market, LumoDoc is now available as the first SaaS solution from FortoLabs for companies across the entire supply chain – including providers of transport management software, customs authorities and service providers, freight forwarders, carriers, and shippers of all sizes.
FortoLabs will gradually roll out additional SaaS offerings. In addition to intelligent document processing, further solutions are already in development. All of them are trained on logistics-specific datasets to deliver high performance from day one – without complex setup or customization.
The solutions from FortoLabs help logistics organizations work faster and more accurately while reducing manual interventions. Teams benefit from lower operational burdens, higher service quality, and more resilient supply chains.
Innovation Driver for the Logistics Industry
“FortoLabs is our innovation driver for the logistics industry,” says Guillaume Petit-Perrin, CEO of Forto. “We have developed agent-based AI solutions that deliver enormous efficiency gains in our own operations. Our vision is to make shipping goods as easy as sending an email. With FortoLabs, we are now making these technologies accessible to other companies in the logistics ecosystem – so they can solve central industry challenges: speed, efficiency, and data quality.”
