Sep 18, 2025 at 1:46 PMThe conference program is set, the ticket shop is open, and the number of exhibitor registrations is rising: The BUILDINX – INNOVATIONS FOR LOGISTICS PROPERTIES in Dortmund is entering its critical phase. Strong partners such as the Federal Association of Logistics (BVL), the German Brownfield Association (DEBV), the Initiative for Logistics Properties (LOGIX), and the Competence Network Logistics.NRW emphasize the importance of the business platform for the industry and bring exciting perspectives to the supporting program.
(Dortmund) From November 18 to 20, the most important players from the logistics and industrial real estate world will come together at BUILDINX in the Dortmund Messe. For its second edition, the business platform receives broad support from renowned organizations and associations, which will also be represented with their own stands:
Through the BUILDINX focus group of the BVL topic area Logistics Properties, the expert association orchestrates the high-caliber conference program during the fair as a professional sponsor. The forward-looking topics and excellent speakers are intended to further stimulate professional exchange on-site.
Additionally, the German Brownfield Association supports the trade fair, highlighting the importance of former industrial and commercial areas for the development of new logistics projects. According to Logivest, brownfield developments will account for more than half of the new construction volume in the logistics sector for the first time in the first half of 2025. This development is particularly evident in the Ruhr area: Around 90 percent of all new construction projects were realized on former industrial sites in the first half of 2025.
Prominent Position of the Ruhr Area
The prominent position of the Ruhr area in this field underscores the importance of locations in North Rhine-Westphalia for the industry. Accordingly, the support from the Competence Network Logistics.NRW is crucial, focusing on innovation, digitization, and sustainability, with more than 300 companies and institutions as members. North Rhine-Westphalia accounts for a third of all logistics revenues in Germany – a large part of which comes from the Ruhr area. Over 800 companies from this economic sector are based in the region, employing a total of 30,000 people.
In order to improve the public perception of logistics properties, the Initiative for Logistics Properties, Logix, is committed to this cause. Since 2013, it has awarded the Logix Award to logistics properties in Germany that meet the high demands of users and investors. This year, they are also making a statement as partners and exhibitors at BUILDINX.
Bringing Decision-Makers of the Value Chain Together
“The sustainable and broad support from our partners underscores the significance of BUILDINX as a business platform for logistics and industrial properties overall. As a B2B platform for the industry, we play a crucial role in bringing decision-makers along the entire value chain in this area even closer together,” explains Sabine Loos, Managing Director of the Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe.
