Europa Worldwide Group Focuses on Sustainability with Blue Yonder
Aug 28, 2025 at 3:15 PMSwisslog, a provider of automation technology and software, expands its portfolio with the IntraMove series: three autonomous mobile robots (AMR) specifically designed for flexible horizontal transport in dynamic warehouse environments. The AMRs handle loads of up to 3,000 kilograms and utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance performance.
(Buchs/Dortmund) The IntraMove series includes three models for different transport requirements: The compact IntraMove AMR 600 transports loads of up to 600 kilograms, the IntraMove AMR 1500 is suitable as a pallet transporter for up to 1,500 kilograms, while the heavy-duty model IntraMove AMR 3000, with omnidirectional drive, handles loads of up to 3,000 kilograms. All robots are equipped with fully integrated lifting mechanisms that transport goods gently and without damage.
Quick Implementation, Flexible Operation, Easy Adaptation
“Our customers are increasingly looking for transport solutions that can handle heavier loads and adapt to dynamic, frequently changing conditions,” says Thomas Balzarek, AMR Solution Manager at Swisslog. “The IntraMove AMRs are ideal for point-to-point pallet and carton transport in industries such as food and beverage, fashion and consumer goods, as well as for industrial applications. They offer quick implementation, flexible operation, and easy adaptation of routes and delivery points.”
The AMRs are connected via the standardized VDA 5050 communication interface to an AI-based fleet management software that ensures optimal route planning and order distribution. The software coordinates the robot fleet in real-time, optimizes routes, and autonomously assigns transport tasks based on priorities, robot availability, and battery status.
Navigation Even in Complex Warehouse Environments
External systems such as doors, elevators, and variable obstacles communicate with the software via standard protocols (MQTT, ModBus, OPC UA). The AMRs also utilize SLAM navigation (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) with two laser scanners and AI algorithms for autonomous route calculation. This allows navigation even in complex warehouse environments without fixed installations like cables or marking tapes.
A direct connection of the fleet management software with a modular warehouse management system (WCS/WMS) such as Swisslog’s SynQ software enables seamless order processing. The solution is highly scalable: companies can flexibly adjust the number of AMRs to changing demands and fluctuating goods volumes without disrupting ongoing warehouse operations. Different top modules, such as platforms or roller conveyors, ensure efficient product handling and flexibility in transport.
Driverless Transport Systems for Over 50 Years
The IntraMove series can be implemented both as a subsystem for efficient point-to-point transport of pallets and cartons and as a standalone picking solution. The AMRs guarantee maximum safety and cost-effectiveness for all types of applications and adapt flexibly to individual transport requirements.
Swisslog has successfully integrated driverless transport systems into warehouse environments for over 50 years. The new IntraMove AMRs complement the existing portfolio with Swisslog’s CarryPick picking solution, which offers high scalability at low operating costs and quickly pays off for customers.
