Aug 26, 2025 at 4:10 PMA new digital analysis tool from the consulting company M3E. Lengthy information procurement processes currently hinder the rapid and smooth establishment of charging infrastructure (LIS) in commercial areas as well as at company locations and in neighborhoods. For municipalities, as well as for businesses, real estate, and logistics companies with multiple locations, it means a lot of work to communicate with all relevant stakeholders to gather and prepare necessary information.
(Berlin) Typically, this is still done laboriously through individual email communication and Excel spreadsheets. A new digital analysis tool from the consulting company M3E provides relief.
With the “Demand Check Charging Infrastructure,” the Berlin electromobility experts have developed a highly functional digital instrument that makes it easier than ever to capture multiple locations, systematically query their individual needs, check eligibility for funding, and much more. The tool automatically sends emails with questionnaires that include relevant inquiries. Questionnaires, responses, and location data are centrally bundled and can be systematically evaluated – for this purpose, as well as for further applications, a clear dashboard is available. Through this efficient communication and data collection, as well as live evaluation and reminder functions, a reliable basis is created for planning future charging needs and area-specific charging strategies and investment decisions.
In addition, the tool also helps to verify compliance with legal requirements and regulations, e.g., the GEIG – the next generation of the analysis tool will include an integrated, automated conformity assessment.
For municipalities and municipal utilities, one of the biggest challenges is to know the actual charging needs in commercial areas and derive concrete action options from them. Accurate information and a central data basis form the foundation for municipalities and energy suppliers to ensure the stability of energy networks. The “Demand Check Charging Infrastructure” allows for the organization of the needs of all resident companies automatically and in compliance with data protection regulations with just a few clicks, bundling them in a clear dashboard. Currently, work is also being done on compatibility with the Area TOOL of the National Control Center for Charging Infrastructure, so that the next generation of the “Demand Check Charging Infrastructure” will enable direct export or reporting.
For businesses, real estate companies, logistics providers, and depot operators
Pre-made, customizable questionnaires are also available for easy use, enabling systematic planning and preparation of LIS projects. This makes the new M3E solution an ideal information and analysis tool for fleet managers and site managers at logistics companies and fleet operators, as well as for energy consultants, project developers, real estate owners, and facility managers who want to assess the charging needs of their properties and prepare investment decisions.
Time-saving digital all-in-one solution instead of Excel chaos
“Municipalities and companies have communicated to us that data collection is an underestimated problem for which there is currently no satisfactory solution. With the new M3E Demand Check Charging Infrastructure, we are solving this problem. The unique demand collection and analysis tool helps to identify charging needs and potentials with a central digital process and to advance projects with a clear data basis, without Excel chaos and time-consuming email communication,” explains Dr. Christian Milan, founder and managing director of M3E GmbH. “In addition to a significant reduction in workload, this also creates transparency for municipalities, companies, and investors, allowing economically and ecologically sensible synergy potentials to be released early, putting an end to uncoordinated, network-endangering individual measures,” Dr. Milan further explains.
