Aug 19, 2025 at 4:36 PMThe 4elements Group continues its international expansion with Wemalo and has officially launched in Kenya. The company offers the first cloud-based warehouse management system (Cloud-WMS) for efficient multi-client management, specifically tailored to the needs of modern logistics service providers and fulfillment companies.
(Hamburg/Nairobi) The goal is to advance the logistics industry in East Africa through digital, decentralized, and scalable solutions. “My travels and conversations in Nairobi have shown: Logistics in Africa is ready for the next step. Together with local partners and a small team, we are building a flexible fulfillment network from our newly opened office in Nairobi that efficiently connects online shops and logistics providers in East Africa,” says Stefan Franke, Managing Director of the 4elements Group.
“With WEMALO, small and medium-sized warehouse service providers can get started immediately – without high investments, time-consuming efforts, or lengthy training.” With the move to Kenya, Wemalo is opening up to the African market on a larger scale for the first time. The market entry is strategically justified: Kenya is considered one of the most dynamic logistics markets in Africa. The e-commerce market is growing rapidly there, with annual growth rates of 15-20% and a projected increase in market volume from $2.3 billion in 2023 to $3.8 billion by 2028.
Closing the Gap with Cloud Solutions
Previous software solutions often fail to meet the requirements of logistics providers in the region, as they are too inflexible or too expensive – especially for small and medium-sized providers. Accordingly, most warehouses in East Africa organize fulfillment with manual processes and lists, leading to errors and delivery delays, and providing clients with little transparency. Wemalo closes this gap with an immediately deployable cloud solution that adapts precisely to the specific requirements on-site thanks to its modular structure.
Global Impulses for Digitalization
Until now, Wemalo’s focus has primarily been on Germany, where the solution is already successfully used by a variety of medium-sized logistics service providers. In addition, the software is also used internationally – for example, by H&M in Australia. The solution, developed in Hamburg and operated 100% in Germany, demonstrates that a German company can set global impulses for the digitalization of logistics.
